Like the other translations of the six books of hadith, Dar-us-Salam Publications, has taken great care in correct translation, simple and clear modern English language, and high quality publishing.
Ahadith in the book are followed by comments to explain issues and to help readers derive lessons. To aid readers further, Dar-us-Salam, has added several features like section on how to benefit from Sunan Ibn Majah, about the Arabic and technical terms used, information about the hadith compilations and a glossary of Islamic terms in the last volume.
Each hadith is also followed by its status in regards to the authenticity. The status is explained more in detail in the Arabic text. The chain is also complete in the Arabic text while it is removed from the English to reduce the length and not being of much benefit to the English readers.
In The Shade Of The Qur’an (18 VOLS)
This is volumes 1 to 18 (Surahs 1 to 114, the entire Qur’an) of Qutub’s Shade.
In the Shade of the Qur’an is more than ‘just another’ commentary; yet it is not too over-reaching or outlandish to be a completely new interpretation. It is an earnest, sincere, and sober look at man’s contemporary achievements and difficulties in the light of the message of the Qur’an. It is an effort to vigorously explore its rich wisdom, and expand its invaluable guidance for the benefit of an increasingly ‘sophisticated’, yet highly perplexed modern society. The work, which is by far Sayyid Qutb’s largest and most profound, spans the whole of the text of the Qur’an. It was written, and party re-written over a period of more than 15 years, most of which the author had spent in Egyptian prisons, during the 1950s and 1960s. In it is embedded Sayyid Qutb’s insight, highly esteemed intellectual vigor, and his widely-acclaimed literary prowess. This book has been universally recognized as an outstanding contribution to Islamic thought and scholarship, to which students and scholars, as well as contemporary Islamic revivalist movements all over the world, owe a great deal. Now that it is available in English, it will continue to enlighten and inspire millions more. It will take its rightful place as an indispensable work of reference for a proper understanding of contemporary Islamic thinking.
Sahih Muslim (7 Volumes)
The authentic hadith collections of Bukhari and Muslim are excellent in respect to both chain of transmissions and the texts as well as their general utility in that they gave guidance in almost all walks of life. The collections won the praise and acclaim of of Hadith scholars so much that they themselves produced works containing the same Ahadith as found in the collection of both Bukhari and Muslim but with their own independent chains consisting of a lesser # of sub-narrators and called their works Mustakhraj.
Imam Muslim is one of the foremost preservers of ahadith of the Prophet. His book comes second only to Sahih al Bukhari in terms of authenticity according to majority of scholars. It is considered to be better than Sahih Bukhari in terms of organization and repetition according to some scholars of Islam. It is the second in the collection of 6 books called “Sihah Sittah” or “6 most authentic books”. Imam Muslim took painstaking efforts in preserving the words/actions/sayings & approvals of the Prophet. He has mostly used 4-5 narrators in the chain of transmission although there are a couple of hadith containing 3 narrators. Imam Muslim was a very good student of Imam Bukhari and some of his Shuyukhs, although he did not narrate from Imam Bukhari too much, thus reducing the # of narrators.

English Translation Of Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal (6 Vols set)
One of the greatest compilations of the sunnah and books of hadith is the Musnad by Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, which is organized into compilations of the hadiths narrated by each Companion (Sahabi), starting with the ‘asharah mubashsharah (“the ten who were promised Paradise”). This highlights their status and the efforts they made to preserve the ahadeeth of the Messenger of Allah (S). The scholars and muhadditheen praised the Musnad of Imam Ahmad. Al-Hafiz Abu Moosa al-Madeeni wrote a book in which he highlighted the great features of the Musnad. In his book he said: “This book is an important source and trustworthy reference for the scholars of hadeeth, as he (Imam Ahmad) selected from the large number of hadith he came across and the plentiful reports he heard, and he put a great deal of effort into making it a prominent, leading and reliable source. When disputing an issue, it is a refuge and a source of help.

The Quran & Modern Science: Compatible or Incompatible? (P/B)
Ever since the dawn of human life on this planet, Man has always sought to understand Nature, his own place in the scheme of Creation and the purpose of Life itself. In this seek for Truth, spanning many centuries and diverse civilizations, the course of history has been determined to a large extent by organizing religion which has shaped human life. While some religions have been based on books as claimed by their adherents to be divinely inspired, others have relied only on human experience.
The main source of the Islamic faith, Al-Qur’an, is a book believed by Muslims, to be of fully Divine origin. It is also believed by Muslims that it contains Divine guidance for all humankind. As the message of Quran is believed to be for all times, it should be relevant to every age. Does the Qur’an pass this test? I intend to give an objective analysis of the Muslim belief in this booklet regarding the Divine origin of the Qur’an, in the light of established scientific discoveries.
In the history of world civilization there was a time when ‘miracles’, or what was perceived to be a miracle, took precedence over human reason and logic. But how do we define the term ‘miracle’? A miracle is anything that takes place out of the normal course of life and for which humankind has no explanation. Though, we must be careful before we accept something as a miracle. An article in `The Times of India’, Mumbai, in 1993 reported that ‘a saint’ by the name ‘Baba Pilot’ claimed to have stayed continuously submerged under water in a tank for three consecutive days and nights.
But he refused the reporters to examine the base of the tank of water where he claimed to have performed this ‘miraculous’ feat. He argued by asking as to how one could examine the womb of a mother that gives birth to a child. The `Baba’ was hiding something and it was considered to be a gimmick simply to gain publicity.
Certainly, no contemporary man with even the slightest inkling towards rational thinking would accept such a ‘miracle’. We would have to accept Mr. P.C. Sorcar, the world famous magician known for his ingenious magical tricks and illusions, as the best god-man if such false miracles are the tests of divinity.
A book, claiming Divine origin, is in effect, claiming to be a miracle. Such a claim should be easily verifiable in any age, as per the standards of that age. It is believed by the Muslims that the Quran is the last and final revelation of God, the miracle of miracles revealed as a mercy to humankind. Both Quran and science are related. Let us therefore scrutinize the veracity of this belief.
[AMM] Adab ad-Dunyā wad-Dīn / أدب الدنيا والدين
This book of ours is but a glimpse of this religion and those morals. “The greatest of matters in importance and value, and the most comprehensive in benefit and support, is that by which religion and this world are established, and by which the welfare of the Hereafter and this world is regulated; because with the integrity of religion, worship is sound, and with the welfare of this world, happiness is complete.” (1)
The book has been printed many times, and is well-known and widely circulated. At the beginning of this century (around 1920 AD), the Egyptian Ministry of Education had designated it for reading in secondary schools, due to its refined literature and wonderful wisdom. The author gathered evidence for it from the Holy Qur’an, the Sunnah of the Messenger and his family, the works of the Companions and their Successors, the etiquette of the eloquent, the sayings of poets, and the wisdom of the Arabs and other nations. He formulated all of this in a harmonious style, combining “the investigation of the jurists and the refinement of the literary men.” (2) He addressed the Muslim individual who is aware of the reality of life, in order to awaken in him the mind and thought, more than he arouses in him emotion and feeling, and in order to guide him towards the straight path and the path of guidance, and to elevate him from his limited reality. And his small experience, to a wider world, and a greater experience.

Forty Hadith Concerning the Major Sins
Know that many of these major sins – the majority of them except a few – most people are unaware about their forbiddance, and the threat and warning [associated with them] has not reached them…
It is upon the scholar to not be rash when dealing with a person who is ignorant [of these matters].
Rather, he should be gentle with him and teach him with the knowledge that Alkali has taught him, especially if the individual recently [embraced Islam and] left his period of ignorance, and he was raised in the distant lands of disbelief.”
