Introduction
All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His aid, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own souls and the wickedness of our deeds. He whom Allah guides, none can misguide, and he whom Allah misguides, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
To proceed, this is the book “Etiquette of the World and Religion” by Abu al-Hasan al-Mawardi. I present it today in a new form, at a time when we are most in need of admonition, reflection, and instruction in the etiquette of Islam and the true religion. Muhammad was sent to me to perfect noble morals and guide people to the straight path.
This book of ours is but a glimpse of this religion and those morals. “The greatest of matters in importance and value, and the most comprehensive in benefit and support, is that by which religion and this world are established, and by which the welfare of the Hereafter and this world is regulated; because with the integrity of religion, worship is sound, and with the welfare of this world, happiness is complete.” (1)
