However, the historical realities of Palestine in general, and of Jerusalem in particular, have been manipulated, adulterated and even hijacked for one specific reason or another. The various accounts of events, taken out of their historical context and used for political, ethnic, religious and sectarian purposes, have spread confusion and uncertainty in contemporary culture, to such an extent that people today view the socio-historic situation of Palestine as fraught with insurmountable hurdles that prevent a correct understanding of the “Palestinian Problem”. In the two years of lectures I have given on Palestine, I have verified that, by presenting history “from the outside looking in”, in a logical, chronological sequence, one can gain a better understanding of historical realities, because it enables one to analyse historical facts reliably and impartially. By applying this methodology, I have rearranged the content of the abovementioned lectures in this book, so as to put within reach of the average reader a well-documented, and comparatively comprehensive treatise. This book contains two distinct parts—the first deals with the history of Jerusalem, from the dawn of time to well into the modern age; that is, up to the time of the Ottoman empire. In contrast, the second part focuses on demographic and political events from the fall of the Ottoman empire, and the subsequent colonial invasion, to the present time; in other words, from the end of the First World War to the death of Yasir Arafat in late 2004.

Jesus and Muhammad : Commonalities of Two Great Religions
Jesus and Muhammad lived in different times and in different contexts. An absolute comparison of the careers of these two men is not a satisfactory method in understanding the similarities and differences between their teachings. This book approaches this topic from a different perspective. The time that Muhammad preached in Mecca is compared to the time Jesus spent preaching throughout Palestine. This improves the similarities in contexts between them and makes a comparison more valid. The number of similarities outweighs the number of differences when looking at the four books of the Gospel and the chapters of the Qur’an revealed in Mecca. On issues related to prayer, the Oneness of God, charity, the Hereafter and forgiveness the teachings in these two books are practically the same. A number of core theological issues surfaced in the Book of John do clash with Qur anic teachings about the person of Jesus. These differences and the possible reasons for them are explored in this book. The conclusion of this book is that Muslims and Christians have more shared values and even theological similarities than differences. It is recommended that Muslims and Christians should spend more time understanding these commonalities.”

Development of Science & Technology In Islamic History (P/B)
The objectives of this book are:
1- To examine the argument that there is a contradiction between science and Islam.
2- To highlight some of the great contributionsmade by Muslims to science and technology over a period of 1000 years.
Science has never been separate from Islam. Objective study of this subject will reveal that Islamic texts – Qur’an and the Sunnah, provided a tremendous boost for study of the physical world and the laws that govern it. As a result, discoveries and inventions became the hallmarks of the Islamic civilization. Recently there has been a surge in the number of publications dealing with science and its relationship with Islam.
These books have focused on the various verses on the Qur’an that point to the physical world to prove that science is compatible with Islam. However, areas that are not covered enough for the English reader are the historical development of science and technology in the Muslim world, and the factors that led to its rise and decline. The decline has been so severe, that today’s Muslims are not even aware that their ancestors were the founding fathers of modern sciences. Just consider the common Arabic words used in the English language today like cotton, algebra, aorta, alcohol, chemistry, earth and alkaline. They are a living testimony to the pioneering work of the Muslims.
I am proud to introduce this inspiring book to our readers. It focuses on the strides made by the Muslims in various disciplines of science and technology from the early period of the Islamic State to its last days in the 20t’ century CE. The unique aspect of this book is that it sheds light on the key factors that led to the rapid advances in science and technology. Furthermore, it also analyses the reasons why Muslim World declined in this field, and last but not least, how the Muslim World can achieve the same kind of success as we already have in the past. Abdul Malik Mujahid About the Author Shabeer Ahmad, born in 1966, is a respected technologist by profession. He studied Avionics Engineering at University of London and he is currently an IT Consultant, having worked in Asia, Europe, Middle East and North America. The author has written widely on various subjects in Islam, including science, economics, politics and history.
The author is also a well respected speaker. The current book started as a lecture for a radio station in London. Given the massive interest it generated, and the little information available, the author began to research more into historical developments of science in the Muslim world. The author felt that the contributions of Muslims in this area have not been widely acknowledged, and that there is a need to counter the view that Islam is incompatible with science. The current book is a culmination of his research over the years.
