This edition of Riyad-us-Saliheen has selected hadith from the full 2 volume edition. It has Arabic text, followed by English translation. It does not contain commentary like the larger editions.
Imam Nawawi was a great scholar of Hadith and Fiqh of his time. He compiled Riyad-us-Saliheen which acclaimed an important position in the Hadith Collections. It is an extremely popular and useful compilation of authentic hadith. Commentaries on the Ahadith were added by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf of Pakistan.

About the translator:
Dr. Ahmad Zaki Hammad is an internationally known authority on Quran and Islamic Studies. He teaches Islamic Civilization and the Primary Disciplines of Quran Commentary, the Prophetic Traditions, and the Principles of Islamic Law at the foremost center of Islamic and Arabic learning in the Muslim world, AL-Azhar University (Faculty of Languages and Translations, Department of English). He is also a member of the Faculty of Shari’ah, Department of Juristic Studies.
He received his early Islamic and Arabic training at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, and was awarded the graduate degree of Alamiyyah from the Faculty of Theology. He holds a Ph.D., in Islamic Studies from the University of Chicago and is the author of a study of translation of Abu Hamid al-Ghazalis’s Al-Mustasfa min Ilm al-Usul, The Quintessence of the Science of the Principles of Islamic Law; and also Islamic Law: Understanding Juristic Differences, a Primer on the Science of al-Khulaf al Fiqhi in Light of the Shariah Sources.
He lived for many years in the United States, where he founded and served in numerous national and community Islamic institutions for American Muslims.
This book presents a thematic treatment of Islamic civilisation. Each of the fourteen chapters comprising this book treats at least one of the major themes that are characteristic of this youngest religiously-based civilisation of the world.
It is not possible to us to perform the Salah (Prayer) as it should be performed unless we know the detailed description of the Prayer shown by Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, such as essentials, manners, forms, supplications and remembrances. However, detailed familiarity with these aspects of the Prayer is difficult to be achieved by most people nowadays because of their limiting themselves to a particular madhhab (school of thought). In every mudhhab, there are traditions and sunnahs (Prophetic examples) which are not found in other madhhabs, and in every mudhhab there are sayings and actions which cannot be authentically traced back to the Prophet.
Many any books have been published on the Prayer of the Prophet but most are by later scholars that cater for a particular muddhab. This famous work, translated from the original Arabic Sifah Salah al-Nabi, brings together as many features of the Prophet’s Prayer from the takbir to the taslim, so that Muslims can fullfil the Prophet’s command to “pray as you see me pray”. This is one of a 3-book series covering various aspects of marriage according to the authentic Sunnah. Marriage plays a most central role in the human life, and has been largely discussed by the scholars of Islaam through the ages, resulting in numerous writings and treatises. Some of those writings, mostly by contemporary scholars, have been translated into English. However, we find them restricted in scope, addressing Muslims who live in predominantly Islaamic countries, or overlooking important real issues that have developed under modern civilization. This is a must have for every Muslim family with kids . The language is so easy to understand . Plus in some verses it does not only interpret the meaning but also tells the story behind it . I actually ordered more of it to give it as gifts to other Muslim families .

This is a good introduction for young kids regarding how the verses of the Quran can be applicable in our behaviour, with little stories that are relatable to us older ones and kids’ day-to-day lives. The language is simple and easy, accompanied by colour-popping pictures. Though some pages may be hard to read because the paragraphs are too near to the bindings of the book, but just open the book wide anyway 😀
