Islamic finance now, is seen as a viable alternative to the conventional financial system, which has the prospect of high growth and application that could potentially provide the panacea to address issues and problems currently facing the conventional financial system. Since Islamic finance is growing at a rapid pace and has started to melee meaningful economic contributions in many countries, there is a growing interest on the role of Islamic finance in contributing to efficient functioning of the overall financial system and its relation to the real economic activities. The unique feature of Islamic finance which requires the cormpliancy to the Shariah in all its aspects, would result in an economy achieving the maqasid al-Shariah and obtaining the noble objective of socio-economic justice for all which is the major characteristic of an Islamic economy. This book aims to provide a comprehensive understanding about the characteristics, structure and operations of an Islamic financial system, particularly in performing its role as an integral component of the overall economic system. It presents a practical understanding of the purpose of creation and humanity to improve the individual and collective well-being of Muslims and society. The intention is to re-introduce and re-emphasize the correct Islamic perspective of humanity. The first five chapters revisits the common understanding among Muslims as to why mankind is created. We show that the prevalent view that we are created to worship Allah (SWT) is incomplete. There is a higher and more noble purpose; Rahmatan lil-Alamin (mercy to the worlds). We present case studies from the history of the Companions using this decision-making model. Purity of Faith (P/B)
The order to live one’s life in accordance to the dictates of Tawhid, monotheism, is the single most important injunction laid down by the revealed law, it formed the core of the call of all Prophets and was the essential message of all revealed scripture. Kitab al-Tawhid is a landmark work analysing orthodox Islamic monotheism. Since it was authored it has received a great deal of attention, a large number of commentaries and has been translated into over twenty languages. Relevant as it was then, it remains relevant today and Muslims are in dire need of reading it, studying it and teaching it.
